Kayaking in Khao Lak area

Kayaking is a popular pastime in many places in Thailand and the opportunity to ride a kayak (canoe) is present almost everywhere. However, in southern Thailand there is one place that is simply a must-see and which can only be visited by kayak. We are talking about Phang Nga Bay, or more precisely, about the islands of the bay, with their numerous grottoes, through caves and internal lakes.

There are several such islands in the bay, but without a doubt the most impressive of them is Panak Island, a fairly large island, in the depths of which there are several lakes connected to the sea by through caves.

In addition to Panak Island, there are several other islands in Phang Nga Bay that are interesting to explore by kayak. Namely, Hong and Talu Nok Islands, the first of which is notable for its unusual grottoes and steep cliffs, and the second for its many caves through which you can swim right through the island.

There is, by and large, only one option to organize kayaking in Phang Nga Bay – buy a tour in one of the travel agencies of nearby Phuket, Krabi or Khao Lak. The cost of such a trip is usually 1000 – 1500 baht. It should be noted that trips are organized by different tour operators and the travel programs differ greatly from each other. In this case, you should not chase cheapness; as a rule, budget tours are held according to a shortened program and include inspection of only half of the places worthy of your attention.
