Ban Krut Attractions and Activities

The Beach
From Tong Chai mountain in (Khao Tong chai) to Bo Thong Lang there is a beach road which runs along the beach for about 20 kilometers. It offers great views over the Thai gulf and the unspoilt beaches of Ban Krut. Most resorts are located along this road.

Khao Tong Chai
A monument of the "father of the navy", Admiral Prince Abhakara Kiartivongse, son of King Chulalongkorn.
A large Buddha statue and the the Phra Phut Kiti Sirichai Pagoda. This temple has been donated to the people of Ban Krut by H.M. Queen Sirikit, it contains numerous rooms, buddha images and some impressive stained glass windows. You can also get a good view along the coastline.

Wat Tham Khiri Won
On this temple complex is a cave with Buddha images.

The morning market.
Every day until about 11:00 AM there is a market in the neighborhood of the railway station.
Here you can buy fresh seafood and many other kinds of food.  

Weekly market
Every Saturday afternoon there is a market where you can buy clothes and other mainly non-food articles. The market is located between the village and the beach.

Koh Lamra
A small rocky island some 5 km north of Khao Tong Chai. There are some shallow areas around the island with coral which offer good snorkeling. There is no regular boat service to visit the island but there are several places where you can rent a boat.

Ban Krut also has a couple of waterfalls and some beautiful local scenery.
