Pattaya
Pattaya has a huge number of attractions. First of all, this is the architectural complex Baan Sukhawadee, which is also called the Palace of the Chicken King. It was built by a Thai billionaire philanthropist who made his fortune supplying chicken meat. Around the building there is a beautiful landscaped park, and the palace itself impresses with its luxurious decoration and mixture of styles.
You should definitely admire the wooden-carved Temple of Truth, standing on the shore of the Gulf of Thailand. For local color, you should go to the famous night floating market or the bright transvestite show “Tiffany”. And if this is not enough, you can just walk along Walking Street in search of night adventures.
From Pattaya, you can go to a crocodile, snake, ostrich or tiger farm. We recommend visiting such excursions with children – where else can you freely pet a small hippopotamus or feed a giraffe?
Samui
Perhaps the most famous natural attraction of Samui is the Grandfather and Grandmother rocks. The piquant creations of nature, reminiscent of male and female reproductive organs, are located on Lamai Beach.
In your free time, you can visit Buddhist temples. The Wat Khunaram temple with a seated mummy of a monk is noteworthy – in 1973, he died during meditation and has survived in an incorruptible form to this day.
As on other Thai islands, there is a Big Buddha here. The gilded statue, 12 meters high, is located on top of a small hill, which offers an excellent panorama. On the way to the Big Buddha, look into the painted temple of Wat Plai Laem. Nearby you can see a 30-meter smiling Buddha (Happy Buddha) and the 18-armed goddess of mercy Guan Yin.
Gourmets are advised to visit the fishing village in the Bophut beach area – there is a large selection of cafes and restaurants with a sea view. Children can be taken to Paradise Park – a petting zoo where you can hold rabbits, pigeons, turtles and other animals.
Crabs
A vacation in Krabi will be especially enjoyable for lovers of wild nature and active recreation.
The resort’s calling card is its picturesque cliffs, which are good not only in photographs. Krabi attracts climbers from all over the world with a large number of routes of varying difficulty levels. A popular place for rock climbing is Tonsai Bay. Those who just want to try their hand at conquering the peaks can hire an instructor and rent the necessary equipment.
Another option for active recreation is trekking in the Tab Kaek Hang Nak National Park. The almost 4 km long hiking route is not only an endurance workout, but also an opportunity to take an unforgettable journey through the jungle, see the local flora and fauna along the way, and admire Krabi from above.
